Lovely Autumn is here
Autumn has arrived in Kiruna. The air is cool and crisp, and in the evening you can almost smell the approaching winter. Nature is at its most colourful side and invites us to a variety of experiences.
This is an excellent time for hiking among the mountain tops and taking walks in the forest, among the falling leaves and an abundance of berries. Why not pick some lingonberry along the way? In the evening we look at the sky, hoping to behold the mythical northern lights dancing in a cascade of colours. Take the opportunity and join an evening photo course where professional Aurora photographers will teach you how to best capture the phenomenon on camera.
For those who love to combine nature and animals can sit up on the Icelandic horse’s back and enjoy the nature in a peaceful way, or participate in a real training session where you guide your own team of eager huskies through the forest to prepare the sled dogs for the upcoming winter. On an autumn visit to the old village of Jukkasjärvi, you’ll learn about the Sámi and meet the reindeer in the corral.
Whatever you choose to do you be sure that it will be absolutely fantastic, and perhaps best of all – totally mosquito free!
