Elsa’s Restaurant
Elsa’s Restaurant is named after Elsa Göransson who worked as the caretaker for Kebnekaise Mountain Station for almost 30 years.
During her time at the station in the 1930’s to the 1960’s all the guests dined at long tables together swapping stories, tips and ideas about their previous excursions. The restaurant is inspired by the conviviality and sense of community surrounding the shared meal and the culinary arts from before.
As the station didn’t have the possibility to use helicopter or snow mobiles for transports that we use today they had to prepare the food to last. Since sustainability is a constant issue, we have reintroduced old preservation methods and using old recipes with a modern twist.
Every evening a two course meal is served, fish or meat as the main course and a dessert to end the meal. Vegetarian dinner options is a given. Please advise us of any allergies at the time of booking, write a note under the message/wishes to Kebnekaise.
