City buses

Local transport serves Kiruna city and certain neighbouring areas. Timetables may be limited in the evenings and at weekends, so please plan your journey in advance. The “Stadshustorget” stop in the city centre is close to the Scandic and Elite hotels and only about 200 metres from the tourist centre.

Shuttle bus to the train station

Free shuttle buses run year-round between the train station and the city centre, via the bus station, for all train arrivals and departures. The bus departs approximately 15-30 minutes before the train’s scheduled departure time. If the train is delayed, the bus will still depart according to the scheduled departure time. Airport shuttle to Kiruna Airport

Falck Omnibus operates the airport bus between Kiruna Airport and Kiruna city centre. The airport bus runs every day, all year round, connecting with all scheduled flights. Buy your ticket with a card on board the bus or via the Länstrafiken app on your mobile phone. (Android/iPhone).

Bus beyond the city

Länstrafiken Norrbotten Buses run between Kiruna and Riksgränsen to the north and Karesuando/Haparanda/Tornio to the south/east. Tickets can be purchased via the app, the website, or by card payment on board the bus. Most routes stop at both the bus station in the old town centre and at Stadshustorget in the new town centre, just a short walk from the tourist centre.

During the winter season (February-May) and summer season (June-September), Nikkaluoktaexpressen between Kiruna and Nikkaluokta.

To Riksgränsen

From Kiruna to Riksgränsen, via Abisko and Björkliden, operates Länstrafikens linje 91 during the winter season (February-May) and summer season (June-September). Please note the dates!
Abisko Bus by Visit Abisko offers return transfers between Kiruna, Abisko and Björkliden.
