Taste the Festival

The area offers langos, Thai food and suovas, as well as, of course, the usual festival treats. Do also take the opportunity to explore Kiruna’s restaurants. Several are pulling out all the stops with their own festival offerings, including Spill with its festival buffet.

Funfair

There’s something special about the scent of the funfair, happy children and carousels spinning into the summer night. Whether you want to have a go yourself or see the children’s eyes light up with anticipation, the funfair is an essential part of the festival experience.

The Youth Tent

Here you’ll find gaming, karaoke, board games and plenty of great fun. There’ll also be a mini ramp for skateboarding, in partnership with Rullhuset! Between activities, you can chill out on the sofas, chat with friends and refuel with a barbecue sandwich and a cold drink.

While other festivals are setting up their stage lights, we’re lighting up the midnight sun! Since its inception in 2000, the Kiruna Festival has become an established tradition, a festive weekend just as important as New Year or Easter. For many Kiruna residents, it’s the highlight of the year – the big homecoming weekend and the start of summer. Visitors from all over the country are drawn by the magical atmosphere, the friendly community spirit and the unforgettable feeling of a festival under the warm light of the midnight sun.
