Together for Kiruna – Kiruna Festival is happening!
The Kiruna Festival 2026 is becoming a reality! Thanks to strong engagement and support from the business community, including Kiruna Municipality, LKAB, Sparbanken Nord, and Viscaria, the festival can now take place.

– “It feels fantastic to confirm that the festival will happen! We are committed to ensuring that the Kiruna Festival continues, and we are incredibly grateful for the support from the business community. This is Kiruna’s festival, and we are doing it together,” says Mats Dahlberg, who has recently taken on the role of interim CEO for Aurora Culture & Congress.

Mats Dahlberg, who founded the Kiruna Festival in 2000, and Pekka Salomonsson, CEO of Kiruna Lapland, have been part of the festival organization in various leading roles since the start.

Free entry to the festival site – and thus to the main stage programme – is this year’s biggest change. Otherwise, much of what has made the Kiruna Festival so popular over the years remains. There’ll be a funfair, festival food, live music, the Kiruna Växer Arena, the Youth Tent and more. Just like last year, @aurorakulturkongress will also be part of the festival area, offering lunch with a focus on children during the day and a nightclub in the evening.
