Getting around

Getting around Kiruna is not like traveling anywhere else. The distances are long, the roads few and the views magnificent. It takes both planning and flexibility to discover all there is to see. Public transport works, but it doesn’t keep pace with the big cities. Outside the city of Kiruna, buses are often seasonal and trains do not run every hour. So it’s important to check timetables, book in advance and think ahead, especially if you want to travel to the mountains, small villages or across borders. Here you will find a collection of information on how to get to Kiruna, how to move around the municipality and how to get to the mountains or neighboring countries.
