In summer 2024, during the period 15-29 July, Kiruna Airport will be closed due to maintenance and renovation work. But don’t let this stop you from experiencing our Arctic summer. See our recommended alternative travel options:

Train
Night train Stockholm – Kiruna, twice daily. Buy ticket.

Airplane
Fly to Luleå Airport (LLA) with SAS and Norwegian. Onward with train or bus to Kiruna.
Fly to Gällivare Lapland Airport GEV) with populAir. Onward with train or bus to Kiruna.
Fly to Harstad-Narvik Airport, Evenes (EVE) with SAS and Norwegian. Take the airport bus to Narvik and then take the train to Kiruna.

Direct flights Kiruna

During the winter season 2024/2025 you can fly directly to Kiruna from Paris, Copenhagen and Düsseldorf.

Paris - Kiruna

Air France offers weekly departures between Kiruna and Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. The flight will operate on Saturdays starting December 21 until March 8.

Copenhagen - Kiruna

From 12 December 2024 to 30 March 2025 it is possible to fly directly between Copenhagen and Kiruna on Thursdays and Sundays.

Eurowings offers weekly departures on Saturdays between Kiruna and Düsseldorf, starting February 1 until March 22, 2025.

Airport bus

The airport bus operates between Kiruna Airport and Kiruna city in connection with all flight departures and arrivals from Stockholm.

Information Kiruna Airport

The terminal at Kiruna Airport is open during the day. The terminal opens about an hour before the first flight departure and close about 30 minutes after the last flight arrival. This means that the terminal is closed during the night. Kiruna Airport doesn’t offer any accommodation in direct connection with the airport.

The car rental companies are on site on arrival and departure. Rental car companies with offices at the airport are also available other times, but preferably within the terminal’s opening hours.
