New year-round attraction: Midnattssolsbadet has opened in Kiruna

A new year-round attraction has opened in Kiruna — a destination famous for the northern lights, the midnight sun, and its ongoing urban transformation. Midnattssolsbadet introduces a modern, weather-independent experience that complements the city’s nature-based offerings.

With 14 pools, 11 saunas, and a capacity for approximately 300 guests, Midnattssolsbadet positions itself as a new signature experience in the region. It offers an experience for the whole family with play areas, water slides, and two large swimming pools designed for both play and lap swimming. Adjustable-depth multi-purpose pools are available, along with a generous relaxation area featuring warm pools, saunas, and space for unwinding.

An experience where history, architecture, and nature meet
Developed as more than just a swimming pool complex, Midnattssolsbadet is an experience where modern architecture meets over 100 years of local history. Several artworks have been brought over from Kiruna’s first bathhouse from 1913 and integrated into the new facility. The result is an environment where the city’s identity lives on in a contemporary experience. From the pools, there is a beautiful view of Kiruna Church and the City Hall, Kristallen.
