International Food Festival

The International Food Festival is coming to Kiruna for the first time!
From 19 to 22 August 2026, Kiruna will host the International Food Festival – Sweden’s most popular international food event. For the first time since the festival began in Malmö in 2008, the event is coming to Sweden’s northernmost city.

Over four days, Stadshustorget is transformed into an international meeting place where visitors can experience flavours, aromas and food cultures from all over the world. The festival brings together around 35 food stalls from over 20 countries, where visitors can enjoy authentic street food, traditional delicacies, sweet treats and drinks. The festival features flavours from countries including Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Thailand, Hungary, Venezuela, Chile, Peru, Korea, Romania, the Balkans, Greece, the USA, India, Iran, Lebanon, Mexico, the UK and Poland.

The festival not only offers food from all corners of the world, but also the chance to meet passionate food exhibitors, discover new cultures and enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere where people come together through food. A world of flavours – right in the heart of Kiruna!

With free entry, the festival is open to everyone – whether you’re a food lover, a curious culinary traveller or simply want to enjoy a lovely day out in town.

About the festival
The International Food Festival is organised by Geraud Markets Sweden AB and is now celebrating its 18th year in Sweden. Since its launch in 2008, the festival has become a much-loved tradition in Swedish town centres and has attracted millions of visitors. The event promotes cultural diversity and brings people together through food, flavours and traditions from around the world.
