Northern Lights & Sami Dinner Experience

Join us for an unforgettable evening that begins in our cozy BBQ hut in Poikkijärvi, overlooking the peaceful river. Here, you’ll enjoy the authentic taste of a traditional Sami dish — souvas — served with vegetables. This flavorful meal, made from lightly smoked reindeer, deer, and moose, is cooked over an open fire in a large pan at the center of the room, following ancient Sami traditions.

The evening starts inside a spacious and warm tentipi, where the crackling fire and aroma of traditional food create a magical atmosphere. As you enjoy your meal, our guide shares stories about Sami culture, the history of Lapland, and life in northern Sweden. It’s a peaceful and heartwarming beginning to a night filled with wonder.

After dinner, we head out in minibuses to chase the Northern Lights. Our guides carefully select the best viewing spots based on weather and sky conditions, giving you the highest chance of seeing the aurora. When the lights appear, we stop so you can take photos and soak in the moment. Our guides are happy to assist with camera settings to help you capture the perfect shot.
