The Kiruna Snow Festival invites you to apply to compete in the 40th edition of the Kiruna International Snow Sculpture Competition, January 22-26 2025.
The Kiruna International Snow Sculpting Competition is an annual art event in the town center of Kiruna, the northernmost town of Sweden, located above the arctic circle. The Snow sculpture competition is the main event of the Kiruna Snow festival that celebrates the arctic lifestyle and local culture of Kiruna, Swedish Lapland.

The snow carving teams that are chosen to take part will have transportation from Stockholm to Kiruna both ways, hotel and meals in Kiruna. The executive committee of the Kiruna International Snow sculpting Competition will present the 2025 chosen teams in the beginning of December.
Information and application
Each participating team will have the opportunity to work with a snow block of highest quality measuring 3x3x3 meters (27 cubic meters). The snow carving teams (two artists/team) will arrive in Kiruna on Tuesday January 21. The snow carving starts at 09.00 January 22 and continues until noon on Saturday January 25, followed by the official award ceremony.
