Panorama Snowshoe Hike

Lapportsvägen 34B, Abisko

Join us for a 2-hour guided snowshoe hike to a breathtaking viewpoint with panoramic views over the Abisko Valley.

We start outside the Abisko.net Hostel & Huskies reception, where your guide helps you gear up and gives a short introduction to snowshoeing before we head into the hills. Snow conditions vary throughout the season — early winter can be firm or icy, and in those cases we simply hike without snowshoes.

It’s an active walk — you’ll warm up quickly as we make our way through soft snow and gentle climbs. Along the way, we look for signs of Arctic wildlife — moose, ptarmigan, hare, and reindeer — whose tracks often crisscross the snow after fresh snowfall.

During winter, moose are frequently seen in the valley, and there’s a good chance we’ll spot one as we make our way through the landscape. At the top, we take a well-deserved break to enjoy a hot drink and take in the vast mountain scenery before making our way down along another route through the snow-covered forest. This is a genuine Arctic adventure — perfect for anyone who wants to move, learn, and experience Lapland on foot
