Esrange Visitor Center

Esrange is one of the world’s most versatile space centers and is operated by the Swedish Space Corporation. It is synonymous with stratospheric balloons, rockets, and antennas, but soon also satellite launches. Esrange has had launch capability for over 50 years and countless experiments made it to space from the base.

Although the rich heritage is an interesting chapter, the future may seem even more exciting; in just a few years, the number of satellites in orbit will increase dramatically. A satellite is crucial for the exchange of information on Earth and gives us, among other things, positioning, communication, weather forecasts, and observation capabilities. Esrange will be the first space center in Europe to launch satellites.
