Read more about parking here. The bus stop “Stadshustorget” is about 200 meters walking distance from the tourist center. Both local and regional buses stop/depart from this stop. Gathering takes place inside the premises 15 minutes before the tour’s departure for check-in. There is no toilet at the tourist center. The nearest toilet is in the Sjuans galleria in the building behind.
It is a short walk outdoors from the tourist center to the bus. The temperature in the visitor mine is +8 to +12º C. Adapt your clothing to the temperature and weather. No special clothing or boots are needed. All visitors are provided with a helmet during the stay.
Luggage storage is available at the tourist center free of charge during the tour. Ordinary fees apply at other times. You may bring a handbag or small backpack on the tour, provided it fits in your lap on the bus and you carry it during the tour.
The tour only includes a light snack consisting of coffee/tea/lemonade and cookies. It is not allowed to bring your own food on the tour or on board the bus.
There is no toilet at the tourist center, which is the starting point for the tour. The nearest toilet is in the Sjuans galleria in the building behind the tourist center. There are also toilets in the visitor mine.

LKAB’s Visitor Center is wheelchair accessible. However, it is important that the person can get on and off the bus on their own, or with the help of relatives. The wheelchair must be foldable. There are short distances to walk in the visitor center. There are also benches placed along the route for those who need to rest their legs. We currently have no adaptation for visual or hearing impairment. Guide dogs are not allowed on the tour. Escorts with a valid escort certificate enter free of charge together with the person to whom the certificate applies. Contact Kiruna Tourist Center and we will help you book your tickets.
Most phone operators do not have coverage in the mine. Telia usually works well. Free wifi is available at the tourist center where the tour starts.
The mine tour takes place in LKAB’s Visitor Center located on the 540 m level, an old main level during the 1970s, about 300 meters below the ground. Mining is currently underway at level 1365 m.
It is not allowed to photograph and film during the tour from the bus inside LKAB’s industrial area, but you are allowed to photograph and film in the visitor mine. You may not photograph or film the guide or other participants so that they can be identified without permission. If you wish to photograph/film for commercial purposes, or other purposes beyond a private person’s interest, you are asked to contact Kiruna Tourist Center for further information.
Transport takes place with a specially equipped mine bus. It is not possible to do the tour with your own bus or car.
As the tour takes place in an active mine, there are rules and conditions that you as the booker of the tour must be aware of. In our booking terms you can also read what applies in the event of a delayed tour, cancellation conditions, rules of conduct and other useful information.
