Kiruna as a congress and meeting destination offers experiences beyond the ordinary. As Sweden’s northernmost destination, 200 kilometres above the Arctic Circle, Kiruna is unique in many ways and filled with contrasts. Kiruna is also undergoing one of the biggest societal transformations in modern times, which is attracting attention around the world. This transformation is creating new opportunities for meetings and congresses, such as a new town centre with a congress centre and two new hotels. We can accommodate everything from small business groups to congresses with a capacity of 1,400 people in a standing audience or 800 people seated.

Kiruna is also an excellent destination for incentive and team building trips. With nature as a meeting place, powerful landscapes set the scene for memorable meetings under the midnight sun or the northern lights. Kiruna’s rich cultural heritage teaches meeting participants more about Sami or Tornedalian culture and traditions. A visit to the world-famous ICEHOTEL, which is rebuilt every winter, will leave a strong impression on meeting participants. With ICEHOTEL 365 it is possible to sleep in -5’C degrees – all year round.

Kiruna has also hosted various types of meetings and events, one of the most recent examples being the inauguration of Sweden’s Presidency of the EU in January 2023, attended by the Swedish government, the European Commission and 70 journalists from EU member states. Cultural and music events, customised events for business groups and product launches by famous brands are other examples.
