THE KIRUNA FESTIVAL

June 27-28, 2025

Kiruna Festival 2025 – Together for Kiruna!

When other festivals rig stage lights, we light the midnight sun! This year, the Kiruna Festival celebrates 25 fantastic years – a quarter century of music, joy and community. At the same time, our beloved city of Kiruna turns 125. This will be a festival to remember!

Since its inception in 2000, the Kiruna Festival has become an established tradition, a festive weekend as important as New Year or Easter. For many Kiruna residents, it is the highlight of the year – the big homecoming weekend and the start of summer. Visitors from all over the country are attracted by the magical atmosphere, the family community and the unforgettable feeling of a festival under the warm light of the midnight sun.

Great artists and unforgettable performances
Over the past 25 years, almost the entire Swedish artistic elite has performed on our stages. Håkan Hellström, The Sounds, Veronica Maggio, The Hives, Sahara Hotnights, Kent, Robyn, The Cardigans, Kiruna Kickers and Willy Clay Band are just some of the legendary names that have graced the festival over the years. In 2025, we’re inviting even more stars to celebrate our anniversary! Among the confirmed artists are Laleh, Maja Ivarsson and Markoolio – along with several surprises to be revealed.

More than just music – the festival area comes alive
The Kiruna Festival is more than just concerts – it’s a place where the whole city comes alive. In addition to two packed stages, you can enjoy a rich program of activities for all ages and a festival area filled with food vendors, restaurant tents, vendors and business expo.

See you in Kiruna on June 27-28 for an unforgettable weekend of music, fellowship and celebration under the midnight sun!

Artists 2025

JILL JOHNSON

Sweden's country queen Jill Johnson is back with new music and a long-awaited summer tour. Together with her band The Johnsons, she is hitting the road with the While You Got Me Tour - and fortunately, the Kiruna Festival will be one of the tour's first stops. The tour coincides with Jill Johnson's new music - where she returns to her country roots with the summery single While You Got Me.

LALEH

Sweden has only one Laleh, and in 2025 she will celebrate 20 years as one of our most unique and beloved artists. After her almost fairytale breakthrough in 2005 with "Live Tomorrow", where she took Scandinavia by storm, Laleh has time and again created music that speaks directly to the heart. With her unique blend of song poetry and pop genius, she has given us the soundtrack to both our biggest dreams and deepest emotions.

MARKOOLIO

Unstoppable Markoolio - back to celebrate 25 years! He was already on stage during the first year of the festival in summer 2000, and now he's making his third appearance with us. With immortal hits like "We're going to the mountains", "Sunbathe and bathe in Piña Colada" and "No summer without reggae", the audience can count on pure festival euphoria. Marko 'Markoolio' Lehtosalo is a crowd favorite with his humor and self-deprecation - loved by all!

SøTE OG RARE GUTTER

With their recent and explosive hit "Bærum Bitches", which took top spots on the charts in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, they have quickly become one of the Nordic region's most talked about new names. The two childhood friends from Ullern have gone from debut single to club stages and festivals in record time. With their own blend of Norwegian party music, pop and charm, they create a whole new universe where it is impossible to stand still.

Y4SKA

Fresh Grammy winner of Newcomer of the Year! With over 80 million streams on Spotify in the last year alone, Y4ska is the name that is currently dominating Sweden. With songs like "Lemonade" and "CALMA", he has not only conquered the streaming charts - he is also behind the two most played songs on P3 Din Gata in 2024. Now he is stepping up to the live stage - and Kirunafestivalen will be one of the stops where the audience gets to meet this new superstar up close.

MAJA IVARSSON

Rock icon Maja Ivarsson has previously performed at the Kiruna Festival with The Sounds, but this time she's doing it as a solo artist. This year Maja Ivarsson made her Melodifestivalen debut with the song "Kamikaze Life", and with a career where she has shared the stage with legendary bands such as Foo Fighters, The Strokes and No Doubt, we can promise that it will be an evening to remember.

KUSELOFTE

The Norwegian EPA-dunk kings are ready to turn up the volume this summer with their first ever stop in Kiruna! With over 400 million streams, sold out gigs all over Sweden and a reputation for creating maximum atmosphere and sing-alongs, Kuselofte is one of the most in-demand live acts in their style right now. They helped kick-start the Norwegian EPA-dunk wave in Sweden and have not only reached millions of listens, but also created a party movement of their own.

KIRUNA KICKERS

Since 2011, the Kiruna Kickers cover band has been offering messy, happy and iconic nights in the restaurant tent - and on national tour with Hooja - without their own songs. Their versions of Swedish classics, rock hits and pop favourites have become an integral part of the festival experience, with audience support that makes other artists smile and sigh. And for almost 15 years, they've been returning to commit the same crime: musical robbery of the highest order.

ARNE ALLIGATOR & DJUNGELTRUMMAN

Arne Alligator has been one of the children's absolute favourites since he first saw the light of the jungle sun in 2003. Arne Alligator & the Jungle Drummer is now the most streamed children's band in the Nordic region and boasts over 300 million views on YouTube! After the concert on Saturday, everyone will of course have the opportunity to meet Arne and maybe take a picture with him and one of his friends!
