Guided city tour

Kiruna is a city with exciting history that stretches from being the world’s largest, in terms of surface area for a city, to be the city that must be moved due to mining. This tour will take you on an exploration where you will experience both the old and new Kiruna.

Learn about LKAB’s managing director and city founder Hjalmar Lundbohm and his vision of creating the best city in the world. You will hear about the church and how it has been moved to the new city centre. Please note that we cannot visit INSIDE the Church due to it is closed after the move to the new location, reopening will be during 2027!

During the tour you will also see and hear about the new city centre and the new city hall named Kristallen, which is an architectural masterpiece!
