Konstfest 2026
Kins third Konstfest will take place on 19–22 February 2026.
Over four days, artists, architects, curators, researchers and other committed participants will meet with museum visitors to celebrate and discuss contemporary art. The programme includes lectures, talks and walks covering everything from feminist perspectives on Picasso and Johan Turis’ stories about Sámi life to Borg Mesch’s photographs, the role of contemporary art in public education and what happens to a city that is changing due to mining expansion. Guided tours of old and new Kiruna and an excursion are included.
A new collection presentation will open, as will an exhibition by Bernd Krauss. Video art will be shown, participants from the project “The Benevolent Food” will serve an artistic meal, and there will be contributions from the Night Festival in Korpilombolo and the upcoming Råneå Biennial.
Invited guests include Britta Marakatt-Labba, Dora García, Åsa Sonjasdotter, Karin Keisu, Josse Thuresson, Harald Gaski, Stefan Jonsson, Hans-Olof Utsi, Victoria Harnesk, Theodor Ringborg and Alexander Etkind.
The art festival is organised in collaboration with, among others, the Swedish Arts Council, the National Museums of World Culture and Linköping University. Lectures and discussions will be held in English.
